Friday the 13th?

Come on folks, there’s got to be a root point that would tell us why some other breathing humans on this planet believe regarding this super looney and baloney tale – Friday the 13th bad events. Let us first get to the top of this phrase.
Friday. Wikipedia says “the name Friday comes from the Old English frīgedæg, meaning the day of Frige the Old English form of Frigg, a West Germanic translation of Latin dies Veneris, “day (of the planet) Venus.” While http://dict.die.net/fridays give ths following:

Source: Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913)

Friday \Fri”day\, n. [AS. friged[ae]g, fr. Frigu, the goddess of marriage; friqu love + d[ae]g day; cf. Icel. Frigg name of a goddess, the wife of Odin or Wodan, OHG. Fr[=i]atag, Icel.Frj[=a]dagr. AS. frigu is prob. from the root of E. friend, free. See Free, and Day.]

Friday the 13th occurs when the thirteenth day of a month falls on Friday, which superstition holds to be a day of good or bad luck. In the Gregorian calendar, this day occurs at least once, but at most three times a year. Any month’s 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday. In 2009 this applies to the months of February, March, and November. The next instance of this appears on the calendar for the year 2015.

Therefore, there was a mythical connection of the name of Friday (5th day from Monday or 6th day when you start counting from Sunday as your first day of your week).  While 13th is an ordinal number designating an odd one in the Biblical series inasmuch as 12th is always perfect in terms of biblical counting. On the other hand,Thirteenth may have a bearing from AS. [thorn]re[‘o]te[‘o][eth]a.]

I just wonder why there are folklorists who regard Friday the 13th as unlucky. Perhaps it is because they wholeheartedly believe that the resurrection of Christ fell on Friday and because the 13th apostle was responsible for betraying him. Those who support the authenticity of the Gregorian calendar says that working people think relaxation is already happening every Friday but when it is the 13th it is going to be a weird one.

Well anyway, why believe that unlucky or bad events directly fall on you on this day or how on earth can you avoid the dictates of the Creator? Whenever day it will be and whatever number that day has, still bad events surround this earth. Whether we like it or not, at this very moment when I wrote this, there are bad events that happened who knows? I’m just guessing. But hopefully, phobic people of this type of folkloric superstition would somehow erase from their thinking this burdensome untruthfulness.

Very truly yours,

Enton
